The true story of the 19th century artist who was the first to create life size sculptures of dinosaurs. The Dinosaurs of Waterhouse Hawkins is a mediation on time and memory and loss.

Live Oak, With Moss

Based on twelve secret queer poems written by Walt Whitman which he never published as written. Instead they were cut up, rearranged, and hidden in Leaves of Grass. They remained unknown for a hundred years.

Doll Face Has a Party

Based on the book by Pam Conrad that I lllustrated in 1993. A resourceful doll teaches everyone how to find joy without ever leaving the house. Grace Needlman and Will Bishop designed and built the puppets in Chicago, and I directed the show via Zoom while quarantining alone in New York. This was commissioned by the Chicago Children's Theatre.
